If Irma could have dinner with anyone in the world, it would be with her teacher, mentor, boss and best friend, Mr. Tony Brown who passed away in 2008. Prior to joining ECHS in February 2015, she taught ESL for 4 years and College level Spanish for 8 years. Some awards she has received thus far include: Outstanding Student Medal at graduation (B. A.) graduated Suma Cum Laude, was semifinalist for the Gabriela Mistral Award and was awarded various scholarships.

Irma likes to walk her dog, watch movies, sew and read. She decided to become a Spanish teacher because she loves Spanish, Literature and History. This profession allows her to combine all of them and share her passion with her students. Besides teaching, Irma enjoys traveling; She has visited Peru, Argentina, Spain, and Portugal and has gone on long road trips across the United States. Irma believes that traveling is the best learning experience.
